Garuda Indonesia to fly London-Jakarta non-stop, adds Beijing and Osaka flights

Garuda Indonesia to fly London-Jakarta non-stop, adds Beijing and Osaka flights
At the prestigious World Travel Mart (WTM) in London held from 4 – 7 November, Garuda Indonesia announced that starting May 2014, the airline will fly London-Jakarta non-stop. Thhis flight will continue onward to Sydney, Australia, so that passengers wishing to fly from London to Sydney will have only one transit stop in Jakarta.
As the airline has been absent 10 years from London, Garuda came full force to WTM to announce its return presence to British skies.
Garuda Indonesia is slated to fly London-Jakarta-Sydney 5 times weekly using its brand-new Boeing 777-300 ER aircrafts, departing from Gatwick airport and arriving at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 06.0 am in the morning.
With First Class, Business and Economy class seating, Garuda offers onboard demand for entertainment and WIFI. A chef will also be on board to serve first class passengers.
Garuda has recently won a number of Awards, that include the World's Best Regionl Airline, and Best Inflight Meals.
The airline promises reliability and safety with that unique Indonesian ambiance on borard.
More flights to Beijing and Osaka
Meanwhile, due to increasing demand from the surging Chinese tourist market, Garuda has added flights from Beijing to Jakarta, from 6 times weekly to daily departures. This route enjoys a 77% load factor, said Garuda GM in Beijing, Asa Perkasa.
Additionally Garuda has also changed to utilizing bigger aircrafts on the Jakarta-Shanghai route from the former Airbus 330-300 to its brand new Boeing 777 planes. Since May 2013, passengers from Shanghai are assisted with Immigration on Board facility that will expedite clearance at the airport. So far the airline's Shanghai-Jakarta route enjoys an 85% passenger load.
Besides its Beijing flights, Garuda also flies daily from Shanghai to Jakarta and from Guangzhou to Jakarta.
In the latest development, Garuda now operates Jakarta-Osaka, Japan flights starting 9 November, using Airbus330-200 planes. The route is served 4 times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, leaving Jakarta at 01.00 hrs local time, arriving Osaka 09.55 local time, while on the Osaka-Jakarta route, GA 889 departs Osaka at 12.00 hrs. local time to arrive in Jakarta at 17.05 Jakarta time. Counting the Bali-Osaka flights, this brings to 11 weekly flights between Indonesia and Osaka, Japan.
